High-speed steel has high hardness, excellent wear resistance, efficiency, strength and toughness. It is primarily used to produce complex metal cutting tools that have thin blades and are impact-resistant. It can also be used to produce cold-working dies and rolls with high-performance, high-temperature bearings and high-temperature springs.
