2024 HIGH STRENGTH ALUMINUM

With its relatively good fatigue resistance, especially in thick plate forms, 2024 Aluminum Plate continues to to be specified for many aerospace structural applications. Alloy 2024 has a high strength to weight ratio and is often used for gears, shafts, wheels and bolts. It is non magnetic and heat treatable.

Applications

Alloy 2024 products are used in fuselage structurals, wing tension members, shear webs & ribs & structural where stiffness, fatigue performance & strength are required. Sheet products are used extensively in military & commercial aircraft for fuselage & wing skins & engine areas where elevated temps. to 250F can be encountered.
