TUBING

Metal tubing is made of alloys and is used for a variety of functions including fluid or gas flow, wiring, structural applications, and even medical uses. Metal tubes are also commonly used as raw materials for industry. Metal tubing comes in various widths and lengths, and it can be round, oval, square, rectangular, or triangular.

The most common metal tube is aluminum tubing, which is lightweight and resistant to corrosion. Steel tubing is stronger and more durable. Stainless steel tubing is strong and also resistant to chemicals and corrosion. Brass tubing is resistant to corrosion and also known for its electrical conductivity. Copper tubing is corrosion resistant and conductive, and ductile versions of this tubing can be bent and maneuvered for purposes such as plumbing. Bronze tubing is strong, corrosion resistant, and has excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. Titanium tubing is a high-strength, low-weight material with high resistance to corrosion.

Metal tubing can have a seamless, welded, or welded and drawn (W&D) construction. Metal tubes can also be finished, coated, or plated for added strength or protection.
